MEMORANDUM OPINION OF THE COURT & ORDER Assessing Filing Fee for Corey Crockett $350, ORDER REFERRING CASE to Magistrate Judge Barbara D. Holmes. Signed by District Judge Aleta A. Trauger on 9/5/17. Because it appears from the plaintiff 039;s submissions that he lacks sufficient financial resources from which to pay the full filing fee in advance, the court GRANTS his motion (ECF No. 2) to proceed IFP in this matter. The Clerk of Court is DIRECTED to send a copy of this order t o the administrator of the Metro- Davidson County Detention Facility to ensure that the custodian of the plaintiff's inmate trust account complies with the portion of 28 U.S.C. § 1915 pertaining to payment of the filing fee. With the e xception of the claim against Defendant Davis for excessive force, all defendants and claims set forth in the plaintiffs complaint are DISMISSED for failure to state a claim for which relief can be granted. 28 U.S.C. §§ 1915(e)(2)(B) a nd 1915A. The Clerk is INSTRUCTED to send the plaintiff a service packet (a blank summons and USM 285 form) for Defendant Davis. The plaintiff MUST complete the service packets and return them to the Clerk's Office within 21 days of the d ate of this order. Upon return of the completed service packet, PROCESS SHALL ISSUE. This action is REFERRED to the Magistrate Judge to enter a scheduling order for the management of the case, to dispose or recommend disposition of any pretria l motions under 28 U.S.C. §§ 636(b)(1)(A) and (B), and to conduct further proceedings, if necessary, under Rule 72(b) of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and the Local Rules of Court.
