January 3, 2020 Opinion or Order Filing 5 ORDER: Petitioner James Michael Naive, a state prisoner, filed a pro se petition for the writ of habeas corpus ("Petition") under 28 U.S.C. 2254 (Doc. No. #1 ) and a "Motion to Hold case in Abeyance/Stay until State Court Rules on State action" (Doc. No. #2 ). Petitioner, however, did not sign either of these filings (Doc. No. 1 at 18; Doc. No. 2 at 2), and did not submit either the $5.00 fee required to file a habeas corpus petition or an application to proceed in this Court without prepaying fees and costs. Because Petitioner is not represented by an attorney, he must personally sign every pleading or motion he submits to the Court. Fed R. Civ. P. 11(a). Accordingly, the Clerk is DIRECTED to return the Petition (Doc. No. #1 ) and the pending motion (Doc. No. #2 ) to Petitioner.
