Filing 12 MOTION to Amend/Correct by Charles Godspower. (Attachments: #1 Attachment - Amended Complaint, #2 Attachment - Supplement to Amended Complaint)(mg) |
Filing 11 ORDER: Plaintiff attempted to resolve the filing fee by sending a check, but this check was written for the wrong amount of money. Specifically, Plaintiff's check was for $400 when it should have been for $402. (See Doc. No. #3 at 56; Doc. No. #7 at 4 (specifying that the filing fee is $402)). Because a party paying the filing fee in advance must pay the full fee at once, the Clerk's Office returned the check to Plaintiff. Plaintiff MUST either pay the full filing fee of $402 or file a properly completed application to proceed as a pauper. If Plaintiff resolves the filing fee, the Court will conduct an appropriate review of the Amended Complaint, as required by the Prison Litigation Reform Act. Signed by District Judge William L. Campbell, Jr on 6/16/2023. (xc:Pro se party by regular mail.) (DOCKET TEXT SUMMARY ONLY-ATTORNEYS MUST OPEN THE PDF AND READ THE ORDER.)(mg) |
***Charles Godspower sent in a check for the $400 filing fee, but was returned due to incorrect amount. The correct amount is $402.*** (mg) |
Filing 10 MOTION to Amend/Correct by Charles Godspower. (Attachments: #1 Attachment - Amended Complaint)(mg) |
Filing 9 MOTION to Amend #1 Complaint by Charles Godspower. (Attachments: #1 Attachment - Cover Letter)(kc) |
Filing 8 MOTION to "Declare no Consent to have United States Magistrate Judge review case, seek Federal Judge with a Jury Demand" by Charles Godspower. (mg) |
Filing 7 ORDER: Plaintiff filed three motions including several requests. (Doc. Nos. #4 , #5 , #6 ). As explained below, some of these requests will be GRANTED and some will be DENIED. This Motion requests the appointment of counsel because Plaintiff can communicate through writing but not through spoken word. (Doc. No. #4 ). Accordingly, this Motion (Doc. No. #4 ) is DENIED without prejudice to re-filing if Plaintiff can demonstrate exceptional circumstances in the future. This Motion (Doc. No. #5 ) is DENIED in part and GRANTED in part. Specifically, Plaintiff's request for Court-ordered daily library passes is DENIED. Plaintiff's request for a 30-day extension of time to comply with the Court's instructions, however, is GRANTED. The Clerk is DIRECTED to send Plaintiff another blank form Section 1983 complaint for prisoners and another blank IFP application for prisoners (short form). This Motion (Doc. No. #6 ) is GRANTED in part and DENIED in part. Specifically, Plaintiff's request for a copy of the original complaint and three certificate of service forms is GRANTED, and the Clerk is DIRECTED to send Plaintiff a copy of Doc. Nos. #1 and 1-1 and three certificate of service forms. Plaintiff's request for "summons forms and style sample," however, is DENIED without prejudice as premature. Signed by District Judge William L. Campbell, Jr on 5/18/2023. (xc:Pro se party by regular mail along with a blank form Section 1983 complaint for prisoners and a blank IFP application for prisoners (short form), and copy of Doc. Nos. 1 and 1-1 and three certificate of service forms.) (DOCKET TEXT SUMMARY ONLY-ATTORNEYS MUST OPEN THE PDF AND READ THE ORDER.)(mg) |

Filing 3 MEMORANDUM AND ORDER: Plaintiff's "medical emergency motion" is not a viable complaint in its current form. For this case to proceed, therefore, Plaintiff must file an amended complaint that complies with the instructions below. The Clerk is DIRECTED to send Plaintiff a blank form Section 1983 complaint for prisoners. Plaintiff must either pay the filing fee or submit an application to proceed without prepaying the filing fee (also known as an in forma pauperis application, or "IFP application"). The Clerk is DIRECTED to mail Plaintiff a blank IFP application for prisoners (short form). Signed by District Judge William L. Campbell, Jr on 05/02/2023. (xc:Pro se party by regular mail along with an IFP application (short form) and a Section 1983 complaint for prisoners.) (DOCKET TEXT SUMMARY ONLY-ATTORNEYS MUST OPEN THE PDF AND READ THE ORDER.)(af) |
