Filing 2 ** TEXT ONLY ORDER ** Chris Jacobs has filed a document labeled "1983 Civil Rights," along with two letters that he previously submitted to this court in Case No. 21-cv-629-bbc. Dkt. #1 . As in that case, it is apparent from the documents that Jacobs is complaining of errors allegedly committed during the criminal proceedings that led to his 1998 Wisconsin convictions for kidnapping and false imprisonment. In Appeal No. 18-1434, the Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit ordered that "any collateral attack on [Jacobs's] 1998 Wisconsin convictions or sentences that he files in any court of this circuit will be returned unfiled" unless Jacobs paid $500 in full to the clerk of court for the Seventh Circuit. According to court records, Jacobs has not paid the $500 fine. Therefore, as Judge Crabb did in 21-cv-629-bbc, I am directing the clerk to return Jacobs's submissions to him and close this case. Signed by District Judge James D. Peterson on 9/20/2022. (lam),(ps) |
