** TEXT ONLY ORDER **The court directed the clerk of court not to issue summons in this case until this court reviewed the pro se complaint filed by plaintiffs Marilyn Sloniker and Heavenly Homes LLC for subject matter jurisdiction. (Dkt. # 2 .) In the meantime, plaintiffs filed a proposed amended complaint (dkt. #3 ), which the court will consider the operative pleading. Although Sloniker may represent herself in this lawsuit, she may not represent the interests of Heavenly Homes LLC. See In re IFC Credit Corp., 663 F.3d 315, 318 (7th Cir. 2011) ("Corporations unlike human beings are not permitted to litigate pro se") (collecting cases); United States v. Hagerman, 545 F.3d 579, 582 (7th Cir. 2008) (denying pro se representation to LLCs and partnerships). Accordingly, plaintiff Heavenly Homes LLC is ORDERED to obtain substitute counsel, who must file a Notice of Appearance of Counsel no later than November 14, 2025. If Heavenly Homes cannot appear by counsel by that date, it will be dismissed as a plaintiff in this case. However, because it appears that plaintiff Sloniker may have one or more claims under federal law against one or more defendants, the clerk of court is DIRECTED to issue summons for the defendants named in the complaint. When the clerk of court does so, Sloniker will be responsible for serving the amended complaint (dkt. #3 ) and summons pursuant to Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 4.
