Date Filed Document Text
May 12, 2022 Opinion or Order Filing 12 ENDORSED ORDER denying #11 Motion for Extension of Time. The motion to amend (second) has been denied. The motion for an extension does not give a reasonable period for the extension or a specific reason that would explain why the extension is necessary. Signed by Magistrate Judge William E. Cassady on 5/12/22. (Cassady, William)
May 6, 2022 Filing 11 MOTION for Extension of Time to serve summons on Mobile County Public School System, filed by Warren Thomas Jackson. Referred to Judge William E. Cassady (PSU). (cjr)
May 2, 2022 Opinion or Order Filing 10 ENDORSED ORDER denying #9 Motion to Amend Complaint. Plaintiff is attempting to add the Alabama Education Association as a defendant in the race discrimination action filed against his former employer. The motion fails to comply with Rule 8, Fed.R.Civ.P. and Local Rule 15. His claim against the AEA seems to be that the organization failed to represent him properly in the termination proceedings before the Mobile County Board of Education. He has not, however, established any standing to pursue an action against the AEA nor identified the character of his claim or made a demand for relief. For these reasons, his second attempt to bring an action against the AEA is DENIED. Signed by Magistrate Judge William E. Cassady on 5/2/22. (Cassady, William)

April 13, 2022 Opinion or Order Filing 7 ENDORSED ORDER denying #6 Motion to Amend Complaint. The denial of this motion is without prejudice to the refiling of a motion to amend that complies with Rule 8, Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and Civil Local Rule 15. It is clear that Plaintiff is attempting to add a defendant but has failed to state a claim against this defendant upon which relief may be granted or a demand for the relief that he is seeking from this defendant. Signed by Magistrate Judge William E. Cassady on 4/13/22. (Cassady, William)
