MINUTE ORDER: Before the Court are two motions submitted by defendants Zedra Holdings (US) Inc. and HSBC Holdings PLC. ECF Nos. #74 , #77 . The Court considers the motions without awaiting a response from the defendants. See D.C.COLO.LCivR 7.1(d). The first motion is defendant Zedra Holdings (US) Inc.'s Motion to Clarify its Motion for Extension of Time to File Responsive Pleading. ECF No. #74 . That motion requests that the Court take no action against defendant Zahed Trust Company Limited until May 13, 2026 because it does not exist. Id. at 4. But the Court has concerns whether defendant Zedra Holdings may make this argument on behalf of a co-defendant and defendant Zedra Holdings provides no case law in support of its motion. See, e.g., 28 U.S.C. 1654 ("In all courts of the United States the parties may plead and conduct their own cases personally or by counsel as, by the rules of such courts, respectively, are permitted to manage and conduct causes therein."). As such, the motion, ECF No. #74 , is DENIED. The second motion is defendant HSBC Holdings PLC's Motion for Extension of Time to File Responsive Pleading. ECF No. #77 . That motion requests that the responsive pleading deadline for it and defendant HSBC Private Bank (Jersey) Limited be extended to May 13, 2026. Id. at 1. For good cause shown, the motion is granted as to defendant HSBC Holdings PLC. However, the Court has the same aforementioned concern whether HSBC Holdings PLC can advocate for HSBC Private Bank (Jersey) Limited. See, e.g., 28 U.S.C. 1654. Accordingly, the motion, ECF No. #77 , is GRANTED IN PART AND DENIED IN PART. Defendant HSBC Holdings PLC shall file a responsive pleading on or before May 13, 2026. Still, because there is question as to the existence of HSBC Private Bank (Jersey) Limited and Zahed Trust Company Limited, the Court sua sponte ORDERS that the deadline for responsive pleadings for these parties be CONTINUED until May 13, 2026. MINUTE ORDER: Before the Court are three motions submitted by defendants Barclays Bank PLC, Zedra Holdings, Inc., and Zahred Trust Company, and a notice of errata filed by defendant Zedra Holdings. ECF Nos. #59 #62 . The Court considers the motions without awaiting a response from the plaintiff. D.C.COLO.LCivR 7.1(d). Defendants Zedra Holdings and Barclays Bank seek to extend the deadline to designate nonparties at fault. Considering the factors enumerated in Traenkner v. Capalbo, 15-CV-00743-WYD-KMT, 2016 WL 503079, at *2 (D. Colo. Feb. 9, 2016) (quoting Daugherty v. Bissell, Case No. 08-cv-01931-WYD-BNB, 2009 WL 2853108, at *2 (D. Colo. Sep. 1, 2009)), the Court finds that the request is excusable because the allegations date back to the 1970s, the defendants have alleged meritorious defenses, and the procedural posture of the case is consistent with equitable considerations. As such, Defendants Zedra Holdings and Barclay Bank's motions, ECF Nos. #59 , #61 , are GRANTED. The deadline for those defendants to designate nonparties at fault is extended to August 11, 2026.
