PUBLIC CITIZEN, INC. et al v. TRUMP et al
Plaintiffs Public Citizen, Inc. et al. filed a complaint for declaratory and injunctive relief against Defendant Donald Trump, alleging that his executive order entitled "Reducing Regulation and Controlling Regulatory Costs" exceeded his constitutional authority, violated his duty under the Take Care Clause, and directed federal agencies to engage in unlawful actions that will harm countless Americans. This lawsuit targets the parts of the order that mandated (1) rescinding two existing regulations for every new regulation adopted and (2) limiting new regulations (combined with the removal of existing regulations) to impose incremental costs of $0 or less.
