MINUTE ORDER denying without prejudice #2 Plaintiff's Motion for CM/ECF Password: Under Local Rule 5.4(b)(2), a pro se party seeking a CM/ECF password must, among other things, "certify[] that he or she either has successfully completed the entire Clerk's Office on-line tutorial or has been permitted to file electronically in other federal courts." Plaintiff Timothy D. Nelson writes in his motion requesting a CM/ECF password that he "ha[s] a PACER account (NelsonTD)" and that he "ha[s] reference to the Clerk's online CM/ECF tutorial." Mr. Nelson has not clarified, though, whether he is permitted to file documents electronically in other federal courts using his PACER account or whether he has successfully completed the entire Clerk's Office on-line tutorial. Because of these deficiencies, the Court concludes that Mr. Nelson's motion does not comply with Local Rule 5.4(b)(2). Accordingly, the Court DENIES WITHOUT PREJUDICE Mr. Nelson's motion for a CM/ECF password. Mr. Nelson may refile his request and must clarify whether he has satified all of the conditions listed under Local Rule 5.4(b)(2). SO ORDERED. Signed by Judge Rudolph Contreras on August 15, 2018.
