June 6, 2019 Opinion or Order MINUTE ORDER. In light of the parties' #6 Joint Report Regarding Mediation, it is ORDERED that this case is referred to mediation through the U.S. District Court Mediation Program administered by the Office of the Circuit Executive. See Local Civ. R. 84.4(a)(1). The mediation deadline is July 8, 2019. If the parties have not settled the dispute or otherwise ended the mediation on or before July 8, 2019, the parties shall file a joint status report on July 8, 2019 proposing a schedule for further proceedings or requesting an extension of the mediation deadline. In their #5 Joint Status Report, the parties indicate that they are currently engaged in settlement discussions and that they agree that alternative dispute resolution is desirable and should be attempted early on in this case. Accordingly, the Court will refrain from entering a scheduling order at this time. Instead, it is ORDERED that the parties shall file another joint status report on or before June 7, 2019 indicating whether the parties consent to referral to the Circuit Executive's Office or a Magistrate Judge for mediation or a settlement conference at this time or whether they believe alternative dispute resolution would prove more fruitful if it occurs after the close of discovery in this case.
