September 20, 2019 Opinion or Order MINUTE ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE. Defendant is a citizen of the District of Columbia and removed this case from the Superior Court of the District of Columbia based on diversity of citizenship under 18 U.S.C. Sec. 1332(a). (See Notice of Removal, ECF No. 1, Paras 2, 7.) Section 1441 of Title 18 provides that "[a] civil action otherwise removable solely on the basis of the jurisdiction under section 1332(a) of this title may not be removed if any of the parties in interest properly joined and served as defendants is a citizen of the State in which such action is brought." Accordingly, it is hereby ORDERED that Defendant SHOW CAUSE on or before 10/7/2019 why this case should not be remanded to Superior Court. Plaintiff may file file a reply to Defendant's response on or before 10/21/2019.
