ORDER - This matter is before the court on the parties' joint preliminary report and discovery plan [Doc. No. #7 ]. The joint preliminary report and discovery plan includes a request to extend the discovery period to a six-month track. While the court will approve the request for a six-month track, any additional extension will be granted only upon a showing of good cause. In addition, the plaintiff "moves to have Eric Warren added as a named defendant" [Doc. No. 7 at 4]. The plaintiff is required to file a motion in order to add a party. This motion shall be filed within 21 days of the date of this order. Next, the court notes that the parties attempted to reserve the right to amend pleadings should discovery reveal the need to do so [Doc. No. 7 at 5]. This "reservation of rights" does not change the standard for amendments pursuant to Federal Rules of Civil Procedure 15 and 16. Finally, the complaint named a John Doe defendant. The plaintiff generally may not proceed with a claim against an unknown defendant, and the claims against John Doe are DISMISSED WITHOUT PREJUDICE. Other than the issues noted above, the time limits for adding parties, amending pleadings, filing motions, completing discovery, and discussing settlement are as stated in the completed form [Doc. No. #7 ] except as herein modified: Daubert motions with regard to expert discovery shall be filed no later than 30 days after the close of discovery. Signed by Judge Charles A.
