Filing 6
TEXT ORDER entered by Judge Sara Darrow on 4/10/2026: This proceeding was docketed as a Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus pursuant to 28 U.S.C. Section 2241. Petitioner's original filing #1 challenges the duration of confinement and referenced habeas corpus but also stated he was bringing a "civil rights complaint." However, Petitioner's Motion to Amend #4 now asks to "amend [his] petition to exclude habeas corpus." Id. at 5. Since Petitioner has now clarified he wants this case brought as a civil rights action, his motion #4 is GRANTED. The Clerk is DIRECTED to (1) administratively CLOSE this case and (2) open a new civil rights action under 42 U.S.C. Section 1983 with Petitioner's filings. The $5.00 filing fee may be credited to the fees due in the civil rights action.(RES)
