ORDER: Plaintiff Jeremy Hoskins, a pretrial detainee at Cook County Jail, brings this pro se civil rights action pursuant to 42 U.S.C. 1983. Plaintiff's application for leave to proceed in forma pauperis, complaint, and motion for attorney representation are before the Court. Plaintiff's application for leave to proceed in forma pauperis #3 is granted. The Court orders the trust fund officer at Plaintiff's place of incarceration to deduct $19.19 from Plaintiff's account for payment to the Clerk of Court as an initial partial payment of the filing fee, and to continue making monthly deductions in accordance with this order. The Clerk of Court is directed to send a copy of this order electronically to the trust fund officer at Cook County Jail and to the Court's Fiscal Department. Summonses, however, shall not issue at this time. Plaintiff's complaint suggests he may not have exhausted administrative remedies prior to filing this lawsuit. Therefore, to proceed with this case, Plaintiff must show cause (explain) in writing why this case should not be dismissed for failure to exhaust administrative remedies before bringing this suit. Plaintiff must respond to this order by February 19, 2021. Failure to comply with this order will result in summary dismissal of this case. Plaintiff is also advised that he must promptly submit a change-of-address notification if he is released or transferred to another facility. If he does not keep the Clerk apprised of his correct address, this case may be dismissed. Plaintiff's motion for attorney representation #4 is denied without prejudice.
