Filing 4 ORDER TRANSFERRING ACTION TO THE NORTHERN DISTRICT OF INDIANA, HAMMOND DIVISION - Plaintiff Frank Dowell's complaint asserts claims against the City of Lafayette, the Lafayette Police Department (LPD), and two LPD officers based on an incident that allegedly occurred in Lafayette, Indiana. Lafayette is in Tippecanoe County, which is in the Northern District of Indiana. See 28 U.S.C. 94(a)(3). Mr. Dowell's complaint indicates that all the defendants reside, and all the events giving rise to his claims occurred, in the Northern District of Indiana. Therefore, pursuant to 28 U.S.C. 1391(b) and 1404, this action is now transferred to the United States District Court for the Northern District of Indiana, Hammond Division, at Lafayette, Indiana. The clerk is directed to terminate Mr. Dowell's motion for leave to proceed in forma pauperis, dkt. #2 , on the docket. (See Order). Copy to plaintiff via US Mail.
