CLOSED TRANSFER. ORDER TRANSFERRING ACTION TO THE NORTHERN DISTRICT OF INDIANA - Petitioner Ray Chamorro filed a petition for habeas corpus pursuant to 28 U.S.C. 2254 challenging his conviction in White County, Indiana. A review of the petition shows that Mr. Chamorro is confined at Indiana State Prison, located in LaPorte County, Indiana. See dkt. #2 . Because both LaPorte County and White County sit in the Northern District of Indiana, see 28 U.S.C. 94(a)(1)(2), that District is the only proper venue for the action based on the allegations in his petition. 28 U.S.C. 2241(d). Therefore, this action is TRANSFERRED to the United States District Court for the Northern District of Indiana at South Bend, Indiana. The motion to appear pro hac vice, dkt. #1 , remains pending for resolution by the Northern District. The clerk is directed to terminate the motion on the docket in the Southern District.
