Filing 6 ORDER DISMISSING ACTION FOR LACK OF JURISDICTION - Jeremy Quinn is in custody pursuant to Indiana convictions for dealing in marijuana and methamphetamine. Dkt. #2 at 1. He has filed a "motion for modification of sentence to an alternative placement," seeking transfer to an alternative placement program. Id. at 12. This motion is made pursuant to Indiana Code 35-38-1-17. This is a federal court. This Court has no jurisdiction over a motion based on state law from a prisoner in state custody seeking to modify his state conviction. Mr. Quinn's relief lies, if anywhere, in state court. This action is dismissed for lack of jurisdiction. The motion for evaluation, dkt. #4 , is DENIED for the same reason. Final judgment shall now enter. The Court notes that Mr. Quinn was convicted in Posey County, Indiana. The address for the Posey County Circuit Court is 300 Main Street, Mt. Vernon, IN 47620. (See Order).
