April 13, 2022 Opinion or Order Filing 5 ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE - The petitioner filed the instant habeas petition challenging a prison disciplinary proceeding in which he was found guilty. His petition is subject to preliminary review. Here, the petitioner's sanction did not include the loss of good-time credits or a demotion in credit class. Therefore, the petitioner is not "in custody" under 2254, and he is not entitled to habeas relief. He therefore has through May 10, 2022, to show cause why this action should not be dismissed.
