January 28, 2020 Opinion or Order Filing 5 ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE - Mr. Schreanes petition for a writ of habeas corpus challenges his state court convictions for murder and robbery imposed in a Tennessee state court. It appears that Mr. Schreane will be subject to state custody pursuant to these convictions once he is no longer in federal custody. The proper respondents in this action are Ms. Schreanes current custodian and the attorney general of the state where the judgment was entered. The clerk is directed to add the Attorney General of Tennessee as a respondent in this action. Mr. Schreane shall have through February 27, 2020, in which to either pay the $5.00 filing fee for this action or demonstrate his financial inability to do so. Respondents are ORDERED to enter an appearance by 7 days from the date they are both served. The clerk is directed to issue a summons to respondent Attorney General of Tennessee,respondent Warden T.J. Watson, the United States Attorney for this District, and the Attorney General of the United States. The Marshal for this District is directed to serve the summons, the petition and the attachments thereto, and a copy of this Order, to these respondents and entities by registered or certified mail at the expense of the United States.
