October 22, 2020 Opinion or Order Filing 4 TEXT ORDER: The Court is in receipt of Plaintiffs correspondence, postmarked October 13, 2020, notifying the Court of a change of address and requesting leave to amend his complaint. Plaintiffs request for leave to amend is DENIED at this time. Per the Courts prior Text Order, dated October 5, 2020, Plaintiffs case has been administratively terminated, pending either (1) payment of the required filing fees, or (2) submission of the required IFP application form, accompanied by a certified account statement for the 6-month period preceding the filing of his complaint. [See ECF No. 2.] Plaintiff may resubmit his request for leave to amend if he pays the required filing fee or is granted in forma pauperis status. The Clerk of the Court is directed to update Plaintiffs address on the docket to reflect his new mailing address at the Essex County Jail and is further directed to mail a copy of the docket sheet, along with a copy of the appropriate IFP application form, to Plaintiff. The Court is unable to correspond with prisoners via multiple mailing addresses or via electronic mail; accordingly, Plaintiff is advised that he must update the Court each time his mailing address changes. So Ordered by Chief Judge Freda L. Wolfson on 10/22/2020. (jmm, )

October 5, 2020 Opinion or Order Filing 2 TEXT ORDER administratively terminating the action. Pro se Plaintiff, a pretrial detainee, has not paid the required filing fees, and although Plaintiff appears to have submitted a completed in forma pauperis ("IFP") application, his application is not accompanied by a certified copy of his trust fund account statement. See 28 U.S.C. 1915(a)(2) ("[A] prisoner seeking to bring a civil action... without prepayment of fees or security therefor... shall submit a certified copy of the trust fund account statement (or institutional equivalent) for the prisoner for the 6-month period immediately preceding the filing of the complaint or notice of appeal, obtained from the appropriate official of each prison at which the prisoner is or was confined."). If Plaintiff wishes to reopen this case, he shall either (1) remit the required filing fees, or (2) file a completed, signed IFP application, accompanied by a certified account statement for the 6-month period preceding the filing of his complaint. If Plaintiff has been confined for less than than 6 months, he may submit a certification for such period as Plaintiff has been confined. The Court also notes that Plaintiff has used a form for a different district court, i.e., the Northern District of Virginia. An appropriate form for an IFP application by a prisoner litigant in this District is available on the Court's website at the following URL: https://www.njd.uscourts.gov/sites/njd/files/forms/DNJ-ProSe-007-A.pdf. So Ordered by Chief Judge Freda L. Wolfson on 10/5/2020. (Fang, W)
