Filing 12 CERTIFICATE OF SERVICE by KILOLO KIJAKAZI re #8 SEALED Administrative Record in SSA Cases, #7 Answer to Complaint (DRUM, ROBERT) |
Filing 11 ORDER REQUIRING RESPONSE REGARDING REFERENCE TO A MAGISTRATE JUDGE. IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED that Notice is given that many districts around the country have had great success in encouraging consent to magistrate judges in social security appeal cases. Maximizing dispositions on consent rather than through reports and recommendations maintains the just, speedy, and inexpensive determination of these cases, as well as realizing the benefits of bringing about a quicker resolution of the appeal than the report and recommendation process. Consistent with the direction of the Administrative Office of the United States Courts, this Court reminds the government and members of the social security bar of the consent option, and its time savings for litigants. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that counsel for the Parties consult with their clients concerning the foregoing and complete and return the attached MDNC Form 85 within 30 days informing the Clerk's Office as to whether or not they consent to disposition by a U.S. Magistrate Judge. Entered at the direction of the Chief Judge. (Attachments: #1 Consent Form) (Sheets, Jamie) |

TEXT ORDER granting #5 Motion for Extension of Time. Defendant shall answer or otherwise respond by 07/08/2022. Plaintiff did not file a timely response in opposition to #5 Motion. Accordingly, pursuant to Local Rule 7.3(k), the Court treats #5 Motion as unopposed and generally subject to granting as a matter of course. The Court further finds no reason to depart from that general rule in this instance, but instead finds good cause for the requested relief. Issued by MAG/JUDGE L. PATRICK AULD on 06/02/2022.
