Order. Petitioner filed a #1 petition for a writ of habeas corpus pursuant to 28 U.S.C. 2241, alleging that Petitioner's detention violates the Immigration and Nationality Act and deprives Petitioner of the right to due process. The Court orders Respondent(s) to file a Notice within 7 days of this Order indicating whether they intend to oppose the Petition and, if so, setting forth a brief explanation as to how the present petition differs from those under the Court of Appeals' consideration in Lopez-Campos. If an opposition is intended, the Return of Writ shall be filed within 14 days from the date of this Order--no later than 5/28/2026. Requests for extension should be restricted to exceptional circumstances. Petitioner may file a reply within 7 days of the Return of Writ. If necessary, the Court may thereafter schedule a hearing.
