Attorneys Dustin Dow and Gregory Mersol attended with defendant Southwest Airlines Co.'s representative, Mike Gillock. The Court questioned whether this case should remain in this district, as opposed to being transferred to the Western District of Pennsylvania, given the dismissal of the Union and concerns regarding convenience for witnesses. Counsel and parties are interested in pursuing early mediation before addressing the venue issue. Therefore, after some limited paper discovery and the depositions of plaintiff and his former supervisor, Scott Hatcher, the Court will conduct a telephone conference on 1/14/16 at 9:00 a.m. to discuss mediation. Should the parties be in a position to do so at the time of their first 45-day report to the Court, they should indicate any readiness for mediation so that it can be arranged during January 2016.
