Minutes of proceedings[non-document] before Judge Pamela A. Barker. The Court conducted an in-person settlement conference. Participating on behalf of Plaintiff MSP Recovery Claims, Series LLC were attorneys Francesco Zincone, Mark Silvey, and Charlie Whorton, and party representative Christopher Miranda. Participating on behalf of Defendant Grange Insurance Company was attorney Mark Johnson and party representatives Jean Showalter and Andrew Kielkopf. After extensive negotiations, the parties were unable to reach an agreement. A telephonic status conference is set for January 3, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. EST. Dial in information shall be provided via separate email. Prior to the conference, the parties shall meet and confer regarding appropriate case management deadlines, including deadlines relating to fact discovery (if any), expert discovery, briefing relating to any potential motion to amend the class complaint, class certification briefing, and dispositive motions. By no later than December 27, 2022, the parties shall file a Joint Status Report setting forth their proposed deadlines. Lastly, during the conference, the Court addressed the fact that Plaintiff's attorney Charlie Whorton is not listed on the docket as an attorney on this case. Mr. Whorton confirmed that he had not filed a Notice of Appearance or Motion to appear Pro Hac Vice prior to the conference and was not, in fact, admitted to practice in the Northern District of Ohio.
