August 7, 2020 Opinion or Order Filing 6 ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE: The Complaint #17 in this matter was filed on March 17, 2020, and a Summons was issued on March 19, 2020. Under Federal Rules of Civil Procedure 4(c)(1) and 4(m), Plaintiff is responsible for serving the Complaint and summons on Defendant within 90 days of filing the Complaint. Under Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 4(l)(1), proof of service of the summons and Complaint must be made to the Court. More than 90 days has elapsed since the Summons was issued, and no proof of service has been filed with the Court. Thus, pursuant to Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 4(m), IT IS ORDERED that the plaintiff appear in writing within 14 days from the date of this Order to show cause why this case should not be dismissed for failure to timely serve Defendant.
