Filing 12 NOTICE of Appearance by Desiree Laborde-Sanfiorenzo on behalf of United States Department of Veterans Affairs (Laborde-Sanfiorenzo, Desiree) |
Filing 11 ORDER: Denying without prejudice #2 Motion to Appear PHV. Local Rule 83A(f) governs pro hac vice admissions. That rule states that "[a]n attorney who does not reside in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and who is authorized to practice law before the bar of any United States court or of the highest court of any state...may apply for permission to appear as attorney of record in a particular case or proceeding." A review of Atty. Dorna-Llompart's application for pro hac vice admission at Docket No. #2 reflects that her law office is located in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, so the Court understands that she is a resident of Puerto Rico. But Local Rule 83A(f) explicitly states that only non-Puerto Rico residents may move the Court to be admitted pro hac vice, and so the Court must deny the petition. Nevertheless, should Plaintiff's counsel be aware of any other rule or authority that would allow Atty. Dorna-Llompart to appear before this Court, he may file an Informative Motion by COB on 8/4/2023 so stating. Signed by Judge Silvia L. Carreno-Coll on 07/31/2023. (MRB) |
