March 20, 2020 Opinion or Order Filing 15 TEXT ORDER - NO IMAGE ATTACHED] ORDER CANCELLING, RESCHEDULING REPORT DATE and EXCLUDING TIME as to.Upon the declaration of a national emergency and the related public health concerns caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic, on March 17, 2020, this Court entered Administrative Order 2020-12; IN RE: COURT OPERATIONS UNDER THE EXIGENT CIRCUMSTANCES RESULTING FROM COVID-19 OUTBREAK, which continued in-person civil and criminal court settings until a date after April 17, 2020. The Court thus ORDERS that the Report Date (or other setting) currently set for Thursday, April 9, 2020 is CANCELLED. The matter is RESET to Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at 9:30 AM for Scheduling Conference. This Court finds that the ends of justice served by continuing this matter in response to the national public health emergency presented by the COVID-19 Pandemic and for the reasons stated in Administrative Order 2020-12 outweigh the best interests of the Defendant and the public in a speedy trial. The time therefore is excluded until the next court setting under the Speedy Trial Act, 18 U.S.C. 3161(h)(7)(A). Signed by Judge John T. Fowlkes Jr. Modified on 3/20/2020 (wrh).
