June 17, 2026 Opinion or Order Filing 10 ELECTRONIC Order Transferring to Eastern District of Texas, Sherman Division. Plaintiff Jacob Miller filed this suit against Defendants Shield AI, Inc. and Trey Lindsey in federal court, alleging various federal and state law claims arising from events and/or omissions during Plaintiff's employment with Defendant Shield AI, Inc. As alleged in the Amended Complaint, Defendant Shield AI has its principal place of business in Frisco, Texas, the parties primarily conducted business in Frisco, Texas, and "the majority of, if not all, critical witnesses and documents" are located there as well. Doc. No. 9 at 2. Frisco, Texas is located in Collin County, which is within the Eastern District of Texas, Sherman Division. See 28 U.S.C. § 124(c)(3). The Amended Complaint contains no allegations suggesting this civil matter is connected to the Northern District of Texas. A phone call with Plaintiff's counsel confirmed this and counsel further indicated no opposition to the transfer of this case to the Eastern District of Texas.Based on the allegations in Plaintiff's Amended Complaint and the telephone call with Plaintiff's counsel, it is clear that a substantial part of the events or omissions giving rise to Plaintiff's claims occurred in Collin County rather than a county in the Dallas Division of the Northern District of Texas. The Court finds that the case has a more substantial connection to the Eastern District of Texas. On the Court's own motion, this case is TRANSFERRED to the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, Sherman Division. See 28 U.S.C. 1404(a).(Ordered by Judge Ed Kinkeade on 6/17/2026) (chmb) [Transferred from Texas Northern on 6/17/2026.]
