May 13, 2026 Opinion or Order Filing 12 ELECTRONIC ORDER: On March 24, 2026, the Court ordered Plaintiff to enter the appearance of local counsel who satisfies the Court's local counsel requirement pursuant to Local Civil Rule 83.10(a). This requirement is separate and apart from the requirement that Plaintiff's counsel of record either become admitted to practice in this District or move the Court to be admitted Pro Hac Vice, which the Court explained to counsel in a recent phone call. See L. Civ. R. 83.7, 83.9(b). Plaintiff's deadline to comply with the Court's order has long passed and Plaintiff has failed to comply.Plaintiff SHALL file the entry of appearance of local counsel who satisfies BOTH requirements of Local Civil Rule 83.10(a) by May 20, 2026. Failure to do so will result in the Court directing both Plaintiff and his counsel to SHOW CAUSE why they should not EACH be sanctioned for their failure to comply with the orders of this Court. See Fed. R. Civ. P. 16(f) (authorizing a court on its own motion to issue any just orders, including those authorized by Rule 37(b)(2)(A)(ii)-(vii), if a party or its attorney, among other things, fails to obey a pretrial order); Smith & Fuller, P.A. v. Cooper Tire & Rubber Co., 685 F.3d 486, 488 (5th Cir. 2012) ("The district court has broad discretion under Rule 37(b) to fashion remedies suited to the misconduct") (internal quotations and citation omitted); see also John v. State of La., 899 F.2d 1441, 1448 (5th Cir. 1990) (emphasizing that Rule 16(f) "does not require a showing of prejudice in order to justify sanctions").
