November 23, 2022 Opinion or Order Filing 4 ORDER AND NOTICE OF DEFICIENCY Leroy Washington filed a document titled Request for Representation by Civil Attorney, which has been docketed as an application under 28 U.S.C. 2241. The Court cannot discern from the filing the nature of the relief Washington seeks. He did not pay any filing fee (whether $5.00 to proceed with a habeas action or $402.00 to proceed with a civil action); nor did he seek leave to proceed in forma pauperis. For Washingtons information, the Court does not appoint attorneys to investigate state court proceedings. Accordingly, it appears that this action should be dismissed. Nevertheless, the Court will give Washington an opportunity to file an appropriate pleading If Washington wishes to proceed with this action, he must complete and file the forms within thirty days of the date of this order.
