September 6, 2024 Opinion or Order Filing 8 ORDER REQUIRING SCHEDULING CONFERENCE AND REPORT FOR CONTENTS OF SCHEDULING ORDER. Pursuant to the Civil Justice Expense and Delay Reduction Plan for the Northern District of Texas and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure 16(b) and 26(f) the Court enters this Order to promote possible early settlement and to facilitate entry of a scheduling order. Lead counsel for each party (or a designee attorney with appropriate authority) and any unrepresented party (except for a prisoner litigant proceeding pro se) shall confer at a scheduling conference as soon as practicable, but in any event no later than September 19, 2024. The Joint Report shall be filed on or before October 3, 2024. Unless the plaintiff is unrepresented, lead counsel for plaintiff is responsible for initiating contact with opposing counsel and all unrepresented parties for the purpose of arranging the scheduling conference and preparing the Joint Report. Lead counsel for all parties and unrepresented parties are equally responsible for ensuring timely compliance with this Order. September 6, 2024 Opinion or Order Filing 7 ORDER. The Court, having reviewed the docket, notes that Libbie Richards and Loncar Lyon Jenkins are not admitted to practice in the Northern District of Texas. Richards and Jenkins are ordered to submit an application for admission pro hac vice should they seek to continue representing Paula Wells in this action. Counsel is also advised of the requirement of local counsel under Local Civil Rule 83.10. Thus, the Court further orders that, by September 19, 2024, Paula Wells must either obtain local counsel or submit a motion to waive the requirement, specifically detailing availability for hearings and ability to comply with the local rules of this Court.
