Minute Entry for proceedings held before Magistrate Judge Diana Song Quiroga. Scheduling Conference held on 11/15/2021. Plaintiff appeared via Zoom through counsel John Woods, and Defendants appeared via Zoom through counsel Jerald Butler. The Court held a scheduling conference and reviewed the parties' joint Rule 26(f) report. Defendants were made aware that their original answer was not attached in the Removal documents: Mr. Butler will promptly supplement the filing. The Court discussed with counsel how Plaintiff is in the process of ascertaining which of the two corporate defendants is the correct one for purposes of this lawsuit. Counsel agreed that additional time is needed for some target discovery before Plaintiff can amend his petition. Plaintiff confirmed that it will send out initial disclosures by today; Defendants did so last week. The Court reviewed the proposed scheduling order. To accommodate the counselors' review of documents to designate proper parties and additional delays due to the upcoming holidays and to obtain medical records, the Court agreed to the Parties proposed new deadlines for joinder, experts, amending the pleadings, and the completion of discovery. The Court advised the parties that they should confer in good faith before filing non-dispositive motions, and notify the Court if they reach a settlement.
