MINUTE ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE: Plaintiff brings this action against American Airlines pursuant to Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, 42 U.S.C. 2000e-5(f). (Compl. ECF No. 7 para. 1.) She alleges she was an employee of American in Arlington, Virginia and that "[a]ll of the events giving rise to Plaintiffs claims occurred at American's hub at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) in Arlington County, Virginia." (Id. para 4.) As such, the basis for venue in the District of Columbia is unclear, as Title VII actions must be brought in the judicial district where: (1) the alleged wrongdoing was committed; (2) the relevant employment records are maintained and administered; (3) the plaintiff would have worked but for the alleged discrimination; or, if the action cannot be brought in either of the preceding districts, (4) in the judicial district in the state where defendant's principal office is located. See 42 U.S.C. 2000e-5(f)(3). Accordingly, by 2/3/21 the Plaintiff shall SHOW CAUSE in writing why the court should not transfer this action to Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Signed by Judge Tanya S.
