Date Filed Document Text
March 15, 2024 Opinion or Order Filing 8 TEXT ONLY ORDER signed by Chief Judge Pamela Pepper on 3/15/2024 re #7 plaintiff's letter motion for extension of time to pay his initial partial filing fee. The plaintiff asks for an extension from March 20 until May 4, 2024; he says he "will be released from custody on March 12th" and is "unable to pay the required fee prior to that date." Dkt. No. 7. The court FINDS that the plaintiff has shown good cause and GRANTS his motion for an extension of time. The court ORDERS that the time for the plaintiff to pay his $21.51 initial partial filing fee is EXTENDED until the end of the day on May 4, 2024. The court's staff confirmed with Kenosha County Detention Center that the plaintiff was released on March 12 but the plaintiff did not provide the court with his forwarding address when he filed his motion. The court will send this order to the plaintiff at the address the court's staff located on CCAP but ADVISES the plaintiff that it is his responsibility to inform the court of his new address; if the plaintiff fails to keep the court updated as to his location, the court may dismiss the case for the plaintiff's failure to diligently pursue it.
