On May 1, 2023, Plaintiff submitted for filing with this Court a document that he may have meant to file in the Circuit Court of El Dorado County, Arkansas--a state court not the United States District Court for the Western District of Arkansas. The Document is entitled petition to correct an illegal sentence.On June 27, 2023, Plaintiff submitted a Commutation Application designed to be submitted to Institutional Release Services located in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.Plaintiff is directed to respond to this Order by informing the Court if he intended to file these documents in federal court or in state court and/or with the Institutional Release Services. If Plaintiff intended to proceed in federal court, he should so advise the Court and he will be sent a form habeas corpus petition. However, Plaintiff is advised that he must first exhaust his available state law remedies before he can seek habeas relief in federal court. Plaintiff must respond to this Order by 7/19/2023.
