Filing 12 RECEIPT #IP064321 for Partial fee in the amount of $10.10, paid by Plaintiff. (HET) |
Filing 11 Order Granting Renewed Motion for Leave to Proceed In Forma Pauperis, Directing Payment of Initial Partial Filing Fee, and Denying Second Motion for Appointment of Counsel - Plaintiff Christopher E. Anderson's renewed motion for leave to proceed in forma pauperis, dkt. #10 , is granted. Pursuant to 28 U.S.C. 1915(b)(1)(A), an initial partial filing fee of ten dollars and ten cents ($10.10) is assessed and shall be paid to the clerk of the district court no later than March 22, 2019. Although Mr. Anderson is excused from pre-paying the full filing fee, he still must pay the three hundred and fifty dollar ($350.00) filing fee pursuant to the statutory formula set forth in 28 U.S.C. 1915(b)(2) when able. Screening of the complaint pursuant to 28 U.S.C. 1915A shall occur after payment of the initial partial filing fee. Mr. Anderson's second motion for the appointment of counsel, dkt. #9 , is denied. His first, filed January 24, was denied as premature. See dkt. #7 . Nothing has changed since that time, and Mr. Anderson's second motion appears almost identical to his first. The instant motion is also premature, and Mr. Anderson has not shown he has made reasonable attempts to recruit counsel on his own prior to seeking the Court's assistance in recruiting counsel. (See Order). Signed by Judge Jane Magnus-Stinson on 2/15/2019. (JDH) |
