MINUTE ORDER. The defendants move to #5 transfer this case to the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. The plaintiff consents to transfer. For the reasons that follow, the motion is GRANTED. This action "might have been brought" in the District of Maryland because the plaintiff resides there. 28 U.S.C. 1404(a), 1391(e)(1). In addition, transfer is warranted "[f]or the convenience of parties and witnesses, in the interest of justice" because (1) the plaintiff resides in Maryland and has consented to transfer into Maryland; (2) the defendants would prefer to litigate in Maryland; (3) the claims at issue in this action did not arise in the District of Columbia; and (4) the remaining public and private interest factors do not cut against transfer. 28 U.S.C. 1404(a); see, e.g., Tower Lab'ys, Ltd. v. Lush Cosmetics Ltd., 285 F. Supp. 3d 321, 325 (D.D.C. 2018). Accordingly, this action is TRANSFERRED to the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. The defendants shall respond to the plaintiffs complaint on or before twenty-one (21) days after this action is docketed in the District of Maryland. So Ordered by Judge Dabney L.
