Petitioners filed for a writ of habeas corpus challenging President Trump's Executive Order Protecting the Nation From Foreign Terrorist Entry into the United States. Petitioners alleged that Defendant's Executive Order seeking to return them to their country of origin where they may face torture or persecution without allowing them to apply for asylum violates the Fifth Amendment (due process and equal protection), as well as federal immigration law and the Convention Against Torture.
